C&O Canal | Melissa

I smiled as I walked in to Uncle Jacks, Melissa sat in a booth towards the middle of the restaurant waiting for my arrival. She smiled as we said hello, we sat ate delicious food, talked and had a good time.

About a year ago or so I was browsing through facebook looking at other photographers in the area when I found “Farfalla Photography.” Intrigued by the name I clicked it. I soon fell in love with her images, we had very similar styles and attitudes about photography. And so I messaged her saying how much I loved her work. Months later her posts were coming in my feed again and I was loving what I was seeing so I commented saying how much I loved it. As I commented more and more we slowly started to talk more about photography and eventually a friendship grew from these small chats. Today, Melissa and I talk quite often and our friendship has grown into something that I feel very lucky to have!

The day was beautiful, the sun would shine brightly, clouds decorated the sky and the temperature was just right. After lunch we got ready for a photoshoot that I was so excited for, I told her my ideas and we fed off of each other as we spoke about the session. Once we were ready we were off to the Canal which is a favorite spot of mine to shoot.

I was a bit nervous shooting considering Melissa is such a talented photographer. But, I pushed through and we started.

Melissa rocks this gorgeous red and white dress! I couldn’t get over how gorgeous it looked on her! We walked around grounds and we found a small little fantasy haven I was so in love with!

The shoot continued getting better and better and Melissa was rocking every moment of it!

Our second half we spent some time in the field with some props on hand. I was so excited when we shot this and I was even more excited during the editing process I mean COME ON!

I want to thank Melissa for allowing me to photograph her! I also want to thank her for all of her encouragement she has given me in moments when I need it, I want to thank her for her friendship, and for just being an all around great person! Thank you again Melissa I hope you adore these images as much as I do because holy heck do I love them a lot!
